Where to send a referral
GPs and physiotherapists can both refer directly.
A referral does not need to come through a GP if the patient is already under physiotherapy care.

Urgent cases
For acute trauma, suspected periprosthetic joint infection, or any patient who needs to be seen within days, mark the referral urgent and phone the rooms as well as sending it.
Do not rely on an emailed referral alone for an urgent case.
If a patient needs emergency assessment, send them to the emergency department rather than waiting on a referral.
Contact the practice about a referral
